We had a long weekend and took off for

Vermont and New Hampshire

October, 2008

The weather is magnificent.  The high is in the 70's and there are a few fair-weather clouds.
We rented a car and left home around 9AM.
We thought we would find a place to eat when we went through Albany and Troy.
But we found next-to-nothing until we were in Vermont.
Royal Madness bear

We enjoyed sitting outdoors and eating perhaps the worst food ever.
Burger, fries, and fried shrimp for $11.00.
But the fries were good.
Then we drove through Bennington.
That town is super cutesy.

There are three live people in this picture.

There were sculptured people all over town..

Who is real?

When we got to Brattleboro, Vermont, we got to enjoy views of the river.

Connecticut River

The river is lovely, and this view of Brattleboro was taken from the marina.
Brattleboro from across the river in New Hampshire.

And we went to the wonderful
State Natural Area.
Wantastiquet State Natural Area

Don't think I've ever heard of this area.
Path in Wantastiquet State Natural Area

There was a very long covered bridge..
It may be Bridge #20.
There is a sign on it reminding you to "Walk your horses or pay a Two Dollar Fine."
Tomorrow, we're off to Saint-Gaudens Natural Historic Site and Nashua, NH.

e-mail Leslie here.

Here's a link to all the rest of the grandkids' pages.
